Colors used to create this tri-toned side table:
- First color: the table top was too beautiful to paint. I waxed it and left it alone.
- Second color: the body of the side table was painted in ASCP paint. I mixed a bit of Provence into about 3/4 cup of CoCo and got this brownish/greenish gray.
- Third color: the trim and one drawer were painted in ASCP Ochre.
- Last step: Waxed with ASCP clear and dark waxes.
Lesson learned: The camera picks up details that I didn’t catch early this morning. I’ll need to go back and apply more dark wax to the white drawer to smooth it out.
So, there ya have it. A tri-toned side table. Oh, by the way, I picked up that super cool strong box from a flea market this past weekend.

Martha, very elegant. This is one of my favorites so far.
i love this look- so unique!
Loving the side table, colors, etc. That kind of table is so versatile and the colors you put on it make it even more so. Awesome.
Thanks JaneEllen: The colors just happened as I stared at the raw wood and contemplated what kind of piece this thing needed to become. It seemed to need something elegant and understated. Thanks for the comment!
This is great! It turned out so beautifully! I love your use of mix colors. They always harmonize so well with each other!
Beautiful. Love the different colors you chose. Thanks so much for sharing at Project Queen’s Link Party this week.
I love that you only painted one drawer, the wood is beautiful just as it is. But I am wondering why you decided to paint only one. What ever the reason it turned out beautifully.
Traci
Hi Traci: I wanted to push the idea of three colors on a small piece. I guess I could also admit that I’m kinda weird and like to try different treatments! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!
This is stunning. Just lovely. Next time I find a cabinet like this I’m totally copying!
Thanks! I love the name of your blog. I would use those exact words to describe what I do. I’ll follow your blog!

Thanks! I checked out your blog and find it very creative. Your latest post on the kindle cover is fantastic. Love the combo of fabrics!
I totally love that you left one drawer unpainted. If you had two, these would make unbelievable nightstands!!! I love it! Great color choices!

So happy to be featuring you this week! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Gorgeous…leaving one drawer natural really showcases the beauty of the wood that may been lost on an all wood piece. Great makeover!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Ooh, I love this! Great work.
