Dixie and Benjamin Moore Amherst Gray
Martha Leone
If you have been following my blog, you know that I've been working on a few pieces in my Idea Furniture collection: Currently I'm working on a series of designs that deconstruct letter forms which basically means that I'm separating the elements of a letter and displaying them in a new way. Examples can be found here. I'm also working on a series of designs based on the solar system. These ideas are best expressed on Mid Century or Art Deco dresser. When I find a piece like this Dixie Chevron dresser with its beautiful lines and inlaid design, all it needs is color.
This was painted for an interior designer's client's nursery using Benjamin Moore Aura Amherst Gray. It was sealed with Minwax Wipe-On Polyurethane. Most of the application of paint was done with my favorite 6" foam roller. I reused the original hardware... one of my favorite things to do when I paint a dresser.
