Gray and Chartreuse Desk
Martha Leone
Design ConceptAlthough I started to plan a design similar to my waterfall pieces for this mid century desk, I came to the conclusion that when a piece has great lines and a good dose of personality in its form, it doesn't need more. So I dumped the design idea and used chartreuse on the two legs which are the distinguishing features on this piece. This shade of green goes best with a dark gray or black.

These are sample sheets from an old 1970's wallpaper swatch book. I grouped similar colors that would coordinate with the color on the legs.
Possible uses The design of this piece of furniture is both quirky and beautiful. It made me laugh when Chad from Peg Leg Vintage brought it to my workshop. Although it's a desk, I think it would be better utilized as a foyer table because of its petite size and somewhat delicate construction. Or could possibly be used as a desk for a lap top. It's made of thin wood and might not hold up to a child's daily use.
This piece will be available for sale this week at Peg Leg Vintage. Contact them or reply to this post if you're interested.
